what to do with it???

On my site I have one banner at the top of each page all hosted from a third party advertising company. The reason I choose to go down this road was simply to make it simple and know that i always have advertisers. Now my page impressions are pretty reasonable and i am concidering selling the ad space myself. My site is a small scale family friendly web directory and search engine so i am able to offer pretty targeted advertising as well as general advertising on my main site pages. What you need to remember is that my site is more of a hobby than a business and should I go down this road. To be honest i am still toying with the idea any info or advice would be gratefully received.

Id setup a system like HTTPads you set prices, they can signup and pay and its automaticly started :) that way people seem more free to work with you :)

Thanks for your reply Elite web. I took a look and it does look like a nice idea. however I want to be able to run the ads from my own site. What I have done is download a banner exchange program and am running it from my server. The script allows you to alocate you clients so many credits for their account. I am planning to allow users to sign up in the usual manner for a banner exchange, But also allow them to buy impressions by CPM simply by increasing their credits. A client doesn't even have to be part of the exchange to receive their credits. They can simply buy them. Now what i am looking for as a service that allows me to take the order, sent them to their site to make the payment then come back to my site to complete the order. I dont want any fees involved apart from a comission on sales. Any tips on suitable services that offer this???

Hi Mack, what we did was set up a trading room so that members can trade advertising amongst one another. So you can either use the impressions you create to advertise your won site or you can sell them to other members.

Our system is new but was at the request of members so it will be interesting to see how it develops overtime.

In order to faciliate the development of trading we have also decided to underwrite impressions. Maybe this is something that you could do.
