I´m going to work for a very promising internet company in a few weeks. Their focus has been on the european market, but now it´s time to jump over the big lake. My job is basically to find webmasters who will participate in our affiliate program.
I´m familiar with the US market, but I have never worked with a $50000 monthly budget. How would you spend the money if you had to promote a new affiliate program? Has anybody a list of efficient affiliate directories, fairs or other marketing methods.
The site has been extremly successful in europe, but that doesn´t mean it will automatically do the same in the US. Anybody has some resources about preparing a european website for the US Market?
I might sound as a complete newbie as my english has gotten a little rusty, but that is not the case. I´m not complete lost. I just want some tips from US professionals. I´m german and will therefore never have the same knowledge of the US market as an american.

Other than that, if you go with a major affiliate network like cj or something similar, they usually have a member base of affiliates that are already there interested in new programs.
You may also want to contact some of the larger sites in your company's niche to see if they have any contacts with fellow webmasters. Maybe contact a directory in your niche.

Of course, we will also try to contact bigmovers directly.
I would greatly appreciate if you guys could give me some advice on where to spend some big bucks efficiently for the options above. We are especially interested in opinion leaders.
