Advertising content sites

Any one buy advertising for content sites?

I'm thinking about buying advertising to jump start my ad supported content site. Any one got any good/bad experience about it?

The site is supported by PPC ads. I'm think about advertising using adsense/overture/miva or an affiliate program that pays per sign up.

Many people do this. You need to figure out what your average revenue per visitor is. If you pay significantly more for new visitors than your average rev figure, you'll probably have a bad experience. If your acquisition costs are lower than your avg rev per visitor, you'll probably have a good experience.
