PPC to Affiliate Programs

I am eager to start marketing affiliate programs, yet the thought of waiting 3-6 months for my sites start generating traffic is a deal killer for me.

I'm interested to get feedback on the feasability of deriving a profit from PPC traffic (traffic I can get tomorrow, not 6 months from now) driven to Affiliate marketing programs/well done sites with creative, relevant affiliate linking. Does this really work? Or is the only way to profit via affiliate programs totally depend on "free traffic" (i.e. organic listings, etc.)?

of course it works. that being said though, it's certainly a challenge to find the right products to promote, and to learn how exactly to promote them. not to mention you're likely to have a decent amount of competition.

Although PPC direct to merchant does work most people will swear by landing pages for better conversion rates. The pre-sell seems to work better than the sales pitch on the merchant site.
