As more and more people go into affiliate marketing have you been seeing an increase or a decrease in your profits..in your respective industries...

say let's use this year from january to august... as the period in question...

for me I've been slightly increasing my profits month to month but I do find it harder and harder to keep up with the improvements... how about you?

July was the best month ever. So far in August traffic is very high but average sale values and conversion rates are down.

Complete bomb out following Googles Bourbon Update and Yahoo's most recent attempt. I have seen a 75% decrease in profits on a rather nice (if i say so myself ;oP)little white hat directory. Fortunately I have a 'real' job so it's less of a catastrophe and more of a challenge.

Everything's going peachy keen for me, but then again, I made a few usability changes two months ago that seem to be paying off now.

The problem is that since things are going so well, I tend to want to not work. That might seem like the goal, but with Xmas coming, I want to put more into place and seem to have no motivation to do so.

This is my new saying for this year: "The more I learn, the more I earn". So for me sales continue to go up and up... :) I'm closing in on netting $500 each and every day now. Hope to have that up to $1000/day by the end of this year. All PPC and no dependence on SE algos. Boy, that's a nice feeling :)

Dave.

Please consider it's still summer and many are on vacations and stops using their computers because they wanna spend more time outdoors.

That's a very short time-frame for comparison, IMHO. I'm doing better this year compared to LAST year, for all of those months, which to me is what matters.

Google's rumored downgrade of "thin affiliate" sites has been a plus for my site, which is content-heavy, and I'm also doing better with AdSense. And I keep adding content. Whenever I add content, sales go up.

Overall, I don't think things have gotten harder. They might have gotten easier, actually.
