Buying stuff through your own affiliate links.

There is a site that I noticed has an affiliate program through CJ. I wanted to order something from them, but I'm wondering if it's ok to join the affiliate program and order something through my link to save a few extra bucks. Do you think that's okay?

Shiznaught,

It's fine to do this.
Merchants usually encourage it - they get the sale, you get a discount - everyone's happy.

Make sure you read the merchants terms first. There is several merchants who do not let you buy through your own links.

Yeah, this seems a little bit of a "don't sh*t where you eat" type of situation, but overall I think it's great when you have a personal interest in what you are selling, and vice versa.

Read the terms. Out of the two affiliate programs I'm most active in, one allows it and one doesn't.

I think it's a good general idea to read the terms. Some will let you, some won't.

I know that Amazon doesn't like you using your affiliate links to buy products. I'm sure some other merchants are fine with it.
