Apple is ending part of its affiliate program on October 1, 2018.

On Wednesday, Apple quietly announced in its newsletter that it will no longer pay out a percentage of the price of an app to affiliates who direct users to the App Store. “Starting on October 1st, 2018, commissions for iOS and Mac apps and in-app content will be removed from the program,” the notice reads.

Affiliate links will still pay out for music, movies, books, and TV content from Apple, but no one should build a business around it.

but no one should build a business around it.

Seems that no one should build a business based on ad revenues anymore.

I am as guilty as anyone here. I 've structured income and site layouts around affiliates many times.

Each time they end services, I've had to redo everything... a real PITA.
