Realnames.com - moved the goal posts again

Realnames has just announced that owners of basic keywords will no longer see the benefit of their keyword/phrase appearing in the SERPS of msn.com.

Not unless you upgrade to the fantastic 'Keyword Plus' status. This costs $299 just to be considered for the upgrade - no guarantees and no refunds. And IF you are approved, then another $199 to get it activated and then $199 every year after that.

Hmm, very tempting...

it actually sounded like a good concept when I first heard about it.

If realnames.com had invested their earnings into promoting the concept properley, to the point where the average bod knows what an 'internet keyword' is, they may have stood a fighting chance.

But the way they run their business is unreal. Can't imagine why microsoft continue to encourage this nonsense.

Just wait till AOL slams you with a price for keywords when "convergance" makes us all take a look at that kind of service.

I don't see any value in realnames for free let alone spending money to get no value. That fee schedule is almost laughable.
