If I setup a link to an Amazon product with my aff id I believe a cookie is set, how long does this cookie last? I´m sure most people buying products won´t buy right after the aff link click, they will probably return a couple of days later, when they are ready to order. Will this order still make a commision for me? Or will I loose it as the person will probably just go directly to Amazon? What about cookies on other aff programs like CJ?
How well in your experience does a banner convert into an aff sale? I´m thinking on creating and runing some banners for multiple products on CJ, but how well do banners convert?
What is the best way to redirect an user to the Amazon or CJ product? I know Google will certanly pay a lot of attention on aff marketing and perhaps we could loose our position on the serps if they decide we donot provide enought agregated value to the user purchase experience. Is there a way to totally hide the redirect and make it really look as the good is being purchased from our website? Is this aproach any better than the usual redirect?
Any good books for aff marketing?
Banner conversions will depend upon location, context, offer, etc. I typically avoid banners and use contextually placed text links instead. You can't simply plaster banners anywhere and expect them to convert...merchandising is key.
Good luck.
