I am looking at putting some Amazon affiliate adverts on one of my websites. However, if I put a nice big 600 pixel wide box which would look great, it's going to render my website mobile unfriendly straightaway. I'm not sure if there is a workaround or not.

Amazon have a responsive ad unit that will adapt to the width of its parent container, so you'd probably be best using that.
