Anybody used/uses them? I put up links a few days ago and sent them over 1000 targeted clicks. Clicks show up in their interface, but zero sales. Don't they have a huge market share in Books, Music and Apps? How can over 1000 people not buy anything at iTunes for several days? Even Ebay converts better.

Searching around the net, I can only find very few sites that have iTunes affiliate links. They look abandoned. And I can't find any legit forum discussions of people who use them. I can also not find any income reports or other mentions of iTunes anywhere in the Blogosphere.

What's the deal with them?

Why donít I see my sales and commissions?

As an affiliate, you earn commissions on sales generated only on the iTunes Store for which you have encoded links. There is a delay between the time the sale is made and when the sale shows up in the reporting interface. Allow one to two weeks; the delay varies by country.

Can I earn commission from sales on the Apple Online Store?

Links to the Apple Online Store products do not earn commissions on the iTunes affiliate program. iTunes gift cards sold on the Apple Online Store are not eligible for affiliate commission. Links to iTunes Gifts on the desktop or within iOS, however, are eligible for affiliate commission.

Allow one to two weeks... a long time.

Strange. On the reporting interface, there is this message:

Information about all clicks will be populated in this section as it happens, real-time. Information about conversions will occur as sales are shipped to the end customer, and will confirm once a day in batches.

Since it's all digital goods, shipping should be immediate. And therefore also the reporting. Am I missing something?

But indeed, I do see sales trickling in. I removed the links to itunes two weeks ago, but it still continues. The revenue is comically low though. 50% more and it will have reached the CPC level of Ebay. And Ebay makes 1/10 compared to Amazon. And Amazon makes 1/10 compared to Adsense.

I thought Amazons reporting is slow. Because you get no information until the next day. And only which items are sold. No additional tracking data.

But iTunes takes the cake. You have to wait weeks for the data and don't even get item data. Good luck optimizing a business based on that.
