I'm interested in discussing ClickBank, especially promoting certain vendors.
Anyone interested?

I guess I'm lost. What's a BHO?

In Affiliatese, a BHO is the polite name for a "Browser Helper Object" a Toolbar, generally and a sniping toobar in particular. One that pops a cookie inside the cart.

There are people who put together scripts and package them into toolbars you can download and install on your browser. Maybe it promises you cash back on your purchases or cute smileys - some incentive to install the toolbar. When these shoppers buy from your affiliate link, your cookie is replaced at the point of purchase with theirs. They are also called "parasites" so If you want to know more, do a search for BHO Parasites.

Thanks for providing that information, but for the record I'm not one of those BHO or whatever people, I was just hoping to find people here to discuss Clickbank. I'm a little shocked to see the first response to my inquiry seemed to ask about being a BHO.
I hope an inaccurate assumption wasn't being made about my reason for asking a question.
I'm still open to any users joining in a discussion.

I don't think RhinoFish's comment reflected on you, more likely the network you asked about. Some networks are predisposed to accept that business model.

And in those types of networks, your cookie will often be over-written, and you won't make any money for your legitimate referrals.

Clickbank is just like any other network, except their products are digital. Most offer high commissions due to the fact people are buying digital information, so the cost to the merchant per new unit of product sold is negligible. Refunds and returns are also quite high.

In so many ways it's funny, this whole discussion reminds me of the great cover version that "Cheap Trick" did of Fat's Domino's song "Ain't That A Shame".
Best of luck to you at CB!

FWIW, my experience with ClickBank has been good, now and in the past.
The refund rate has been low and the number of sales has been good.
