For those who are with CJ; what are the best affiliates to apply to?

It really all depends on what category your website is. What is yours?

It would be more consumer based; we receive 3k uniques per day; and its pretty much 18 and over - male/female. We were looking more towards flowers; books; things people purchase regularly.

If it's books you'd be better off with Amazon.

Ok, so I can't just make disparaging remarks without some helpful ones, right? ;)

Are you looking for product feeds or banners and other graphic ads?

I'd have to say if you are just looking for graphic ads, set up a rotating banner system with 3 or four of your best "gut feel" merchants. I mean let's face it, there are a couple thousand merchants on cj now and 90% take whoever applies...

Anyway, pick a few. pick up a rotating banner script (one that equally distributes immpressions, preferably), plug in those merchants. Let it run for 4-5 weeks (assuming that they all have at least a 30 day return). Then use cj's stats to tell you which banner has the best earnings per impression. If it is acceptable, run with that merchant. If not, take your best and run it against 3 others for another 4-5 weeks. Repeat till you find one you like.

I know this way takes longer than someone saying, yeah so and so rocks, but you will get a better return in the long run. My top merchant may suck for you and we might even have a similar site. Test your own, and you will be much happier.

Banners

phpAdsNew - already installed

Our site targets mostly Canadians; CJ.com has a limited amount of options in Canada. I will definitely keep an eye on what banners work; but in the "trial and error" strategy; I hope to skip the first few steps with a little insite.

According to a quick search of the CJ site, they currently have 589 merchants that have themselves listed as servicing the Canadian area. I think you have some options. ;)

Try doing a search for merchants using the Additional Search Options with the Serviceable Area set on Canada and then you can browse the categories you are looking for. I took a look in gifts and there are a few merchants with nice EPCs (one of which I advertise and do well with) and some that would probably do well if someone bothered to advertise them well.
