I am running a campaign on one of my sites that gets an average converstion rate of 18%. Is this on the high end or should I be at 40-50% range?

The answer is it depends. It's much easier to get a high conversion rate on a lead generation site than it is for a high-priced item.

I think the most important measure is profitability. Is it making money for you? That should be your main concern. Everything else is somewhat secondary.

That isn't to say a high conversion rate isn't important, though. Higher conversion rates mean that you generally make more money off the same level of traffic, which is almost always a good thing.

This is like asking what the average EPC. Never seem to get the same answer.

Sounds like you have a good solid conversion rate to me. I also read another publisher said they had about 1500 clicks per day with about 20 transactions, and another about 1000 clicks with the same amount. So it varies widely.

We do about 300 clicks and get about 6 or 7 transactions per that amount. At least on the high end transactions.
