What expectations are there when you use a company's datafeed?

Is it a no-no to give my visitors the option of more than one retailer?

I'm marketing a bunch of widgets on my site, using a datafeed provided by a merchant I have an affiliate relationship with.

They don't seem to have any published rules regarding what can or can not be done with their feed, and I was wondering if there are some unwritten rules I should be aware of. Is it generally assumed that if you're using a datafeed you will only drive traffic to their site for those products? Would putting links to their competitors (to give my visitors an option) be a bad thing to do? How about AdSense on the same pages, potentially containing their competitors' advertisements?

I'd ask the merchant but I'm afraid either it's a big no-no and even the suggestion of using their data for other purposes would anger them, or it's completely fine but given the option they'd say no.

I wouldn't worry about it. Have you agreed to any terms of service with them? Check on that.
