I wonder what those small "1$/day sites" are in fact:
1. Are they all about really precise subjects? Let's say I'm into selling computer monitors, will one site be about a particular Viewsonic model, the other one about another Viewsonic model, etc.?
2. Will each of those sites have its own domain name (viewsonic_G50_computer_monitor.com , viewsonic_TX120_computer_monitor.com)? If so, you have to pay 300 X 10-15$/year for the domain names, right?
3. If they are about a really precise subject, how is it possible to have more than one page about it? How is it possible to add content?
4. If the 300 sites are about quite different subjects (one about computer monitors, one about DVD recorders, etc.), how do you manage to find those 300 subjects? That's a lot! And you manage to add new content to all those sites every week?
Thanks to all of you.. "Advertising Sales and Affiliate Programs" board is home of some really, really inspiring threads!
But what about "conversion rate" of your visitors to a merchant site? Ok, let's assume it's 30%. Or am I wrong?
With this numbers you will have to attract 2-6k visitors per day, imho that's not an easy level to achieve, but certainly doable.
My 0.01
We're still small timers here (tiny? hole-in-the-wall?) but even our baseline is $100.00+ per month for a site and then we're pleased with it. Pleased means it's a site we can pretty much forget about and it keeps cranking out a hundred bucks a month.
I've never made thousands a day so a few thousand a month supplemental sends me tip toeing thru the tulips and spinning on my toes! (uh, just don't tell any of my buds that I said that.) Thanks.
