In what is sure to be a major bout of controversy in advertising circles, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is going to publish a decision on how to calculate a "click" and an impression.

According to industry veterans, about 10 percent of all
online advertising charges wind up in dispute--about $600
million worth in 2001, based on projected online ad sales
of $6 billion to $8 billion.

Interesting article.

>about 10 percent of all online advertising charges wind up in dispute

Wow.

At first, you may think hey a click is a click and an impression is an image call.

But what about clicks from the same IP at different publisher sites. What about partial image calls - and subsequent calls from the same user. Lots to think about when considering millions and millions of impressions.
