still keeping seperate affiliate programs but they have joined together.
I can see commission % eventually falling by the summer.

I was surprised to see that they both are offering 25+% commissions. Unless I am mistaken, they were offering much less than that about a year ago.
I'm not an affiliate, but 25% seems pretty generous. Do you believe it will fall into the 10-12% range?

no, allposters offered 20-25%, now 25-30% but I think that and the ten-day cookie was a move to compete with art.com
now they've merged, I can't see how they won't reduce commission percentages although I imagine it will only be by around 5-8%....maybe it will settle at 15-20% minimum.

If they do cut their commissions, it might be a pretty good opportunity to start a rival.

Well, we have been rivals for several years. I was trying to get an idea of what level of commission offerings would be found attractive by compatible publishers.

well, as you know, it's not just about percentages.
"what art.com/allposters offer" + 1% won't cut it.
they have the long web presence and the branding.
it's why amazon can offer lousy rates and still do fine...they convert well.
