I said at the time that if you see me post about achieving success, then you'll know it is indeed doable because I was stuck at where a lot of people get stuck at, in the $10 to $15 per day range. I am now writing to announce that I am officially unstuck!
I had one main site that was rock solid earning between $10 to $15 per day, for years. The consistency was nice, but who gets excited over $15/day? I discovered this forum last fall when I had vague ideas for creating AM sites, and learned a lot here. I was in the midst of creating a few sites at the time, but I didn't get serious about AM until just a few months ago. Last month I put out a site which was my first real effort at going hard after a particular niche. This new site rapidly became my top earner. One other site that I put out in the fall is making a little money now, too (I haven't done much at all to monetize this one yet). In the last week I've been earning about $75/day across these sites. That $100 milestone is not quite so far off. =)
So let me say, this is very doable. AM is not dead, as some have said. Yes, it can be very frustrating. I've been frustrated before getting to this point. But once you start to find things that work, you will find your success. Or your frustration might become too much and you'll quit. I don't think AM is for everyone. As I've said in other posts, I deal with untargeted high traffic and low conversions. I depend on bulk traffic, plain and simple. The advantage in this for me is that when I put out a new site, I can route a lot of traffic (from my other pages) to it and have it take off quickly (organic SE traffic and PPC do not play any role in my new site). I'll admit I don't really understand how low traffic, high conversion sites work. I'd like to experiment with that route for diversification purposes, if anyone has any pointers.
