Why would experian purchase an affiliate network? Other than credit rating/reporting, are they involved in anything else?
A bit of history, all the list management/credit reporting companies tried to launch internet services divisions within their own comany several years back. They threw a bunch of their own clueless employees at it and said "Make it work". Guess what, it didn't, for alot of reasons. Mostly because their people didn't know the first thing about the internet and second becuase the catalog companies didn't think the internet was worth looking at. Everyone of them dumped their programs.
Fast forward. The catalog companies got a clue (though not good ones) and are hitting internet marketing in droves. The list management companies took a look at what they did wrong and said, "Hm, I think we should buy the pieces of our internet divisions"
Look for AffiliateFule to start dealing mainly or even exclusivly with catalog companies from here on out.
This can be a good thing or a bad thing. Catalog companies are about as clueless as can be when it comes to internet marketing. That means that there are lots of opportunities with them, but on the other hand, they pay low commissions and don't expect that you will get much support from them plus since they don't understand the internet, you frequently see bizzar rules about how you can or can not advertise their products.
