Hi all

I'm new to the online world, but I have now started my "career" as a website owner :-)
In the past weeks I have developed a new site that I will try to get some traffic on. The SEO on the site should now be exelent.. (hopefully)

I have put away some money, that i'm going to use to advertise my site. I have been searching the web to find places to put a banner or text link on. The difficult thing is that many websites don't have any overview over how much they are charging for a link or banner.
I have used some time emailing the websites, but many of the webmasters never return my email.

I know it's possible to use google and other large websites to spend some bucks on advertising, but I want to place ads on specific sites (category).

I was wondering if anyone know about a site (or sites) that have an overview over many sites, where it is possible to bid on a specific link or banner space (or other marketing services)? I do not prefer a large site with to many sites on, since then it's not easy to get an overview over what i need.

Thankful for all advice ;-)

Hi NewTowner, welcome to Webmaster World.

The very first question I would ask you to get an understanding of audience reach is are you trying to gain exposure on an international, national, regional, or local level? It makes a difference.

Are you looking to make money? If so, why are you more concerned about the specific ad venue than you seem to be about finding the most profitable opportunity?

IMO the route your taking is about the last one I'd do, and probably has the least likelihood of success. No way would I start a site by putting a banner ad on someone's site, even if it's a specific category.

Off the top of my head you should look for something like adbrite. There are also a whole lot of ad networks, so browse those to find the niche you're looking for.
