StubHub announced this week that its online affiliate marketing program is ending. Starting Dec. 1 the company will no longer pay commissions to its affiliates.

This is just the stuff I am talking about in other posts on here...

Affiliate marketing is dead has been spit out more times then I can count over the years I have done this... But it really seems dead now...

For Stubhub (and ticketmaster, who paid peanuts and no one would ever join anyway) to cut their affiliate programs is because of one thing..

Business plan - USE affiliates to build their name, brand and wealth until their name brand and wealth is big enough to not use them...

People naturally will just use them anyway, affiliates helped buiols the name, brand and trust...

Take it as a lesson, just like in America as a whole, Big corps will use you and abuse you..

In the words of Bob Dylan, you are all just pawns in their game...

This is pretty huge news in the affiliate world to me, once companies freach a certian point they will not need affiliates at all and that has been a part of the business plan for a long long time... Though I am sure the economy has sped it up, probably cheaper to force affiliates to hop over to Adsence where they can payout 75% less for the same traffic...

thanks for the update, this is timely, as I run a local events portal and was wondering how I was going to make money on it.
