Are there any good books on affiliate marketing?

No hype, just facts.

Has anyone read any factual books or articles on affiliate marketing? I have found plenty of stuff about how to make $500,000 per year, but most of these people seem to have an agenda of selling e books, and do not know much about AM. Have you read any worthwhile info about AM. If you do not want to post it here just sticky me.

Forget about the ebooks. This forum is a goldmine of information. Just roll up your sleeves and read past threads. You should find the answers to most basic questions and lots of great ideas. Try querying site search [webmasterworld.com] for answers to FAQ. If you still can't find the answers you seek, start a thread here and someone will try to help you.

Try this thread to start.

I agree with nativenewyorker... this site is more than enough to chew on.. :) in my opinion... follow the quest for $XXX/month threads.. there's a lot of good info buried in it as people discuss how things work and didn't work, a lot of folks added a lot of valuable tips in there...

I think people on this forum do too much ebook bashing. The truth is there are some excellent ebooks out there on affiliate marketing that cut the learning curve way down. Is it all here in this forum? A lot of it is - the trouble is, you have to sift through it all and pick the good from the bad.

If you can get 1 good idea from an ebook purchase it makes up its cost many times over. And 99% of them have money back guarantees. I don't see what there is to lose by giving one a try?

I say read the free ebooks only... but don't expect to get any ground breaking info from them, use it as a very basic reference and for brainstorming.

No matter what ebook you buy, you'll never get up to date tecniques for PPC or anything else.

There is no substitute for long hours and experimenting.

Hey,

I agree with Conroy, and would even go farther to say that no you won't find everything on here that some ebooks have.

Some of them are junk, and some of them are great. That is why I read another Affiliate forum where you can see people talking about specific products.

Just don't search for the holy grail in them.

All the Best,

I read one by Ken Evoy called the affiliate marketing master course. The advice given was quite unique and specific although there was a tendency to waffle. Basically he recommended on compiling a list of keywords of products from high paying affiliate programs, and then build the pages and SEO your site round these keywords.

Hey,

That course was one of the first ones I read. I used to listen to his writings, but now that I know more I don't.

If Ken had his way, every affiliate site would be an authority site and would have newsletters, etc. Basically you would be tied down.
