Hey Guys,
I am new to affiliate marketing. I have about 15 sites doing affiliate advts - but i am not generating good revenue- not even $10/day. so the question is do i have to sharpen my marketing skills more or should i continue adding more sites and flood the search engines so as increase visibilty on se.

Are there anyone out there making decent income with few sites (like 2-5).. what is the balance needed?

Generally speaking, it's alot easier to manage a few big sites than a huge whack of small sites. But it really depends on your market and what products you are trying to push from the affiliate program.

I would rather manage 10 sites and do well with them than do 100 sites and do poorly with each of them.

As for the advertising budget, it ranges depending on the products/market. I can't really give an exact figure.

I had a site running which was cost me about $500US/month in advertising and only make about $200 profit. I kept it going because while the margin was small it was making some money.

But I also had I site that I only paid about $100 once for an advertisement and it's still bringing in traffic 6 months later. The margins are substantially lower on this specific site, but since I only paid for advertising once it has more than made up for it. But the ad was placed in a very specific location and it served an extremely specific niche market. (I tried doing the same tactic with a different market a few months later and it failed horribly, so I think it only works well for one specific market).
