If you were going to suggest an advertising network to your kid brother or your grandmother, who was just starting out, which ones would you suggest they approach, and which ones would you suggest they avoid ?

Over in This Post [webmasterworld.com] I wrote out a full description of what I'm trying to accomplish.

For the moment, I want to try an advertiser on an experimental web page, and see if I can pay for the page with ads alone.

Who's safe for a NewB ? Who's vicious ? Whom does a NewB avoid ? Whom does a NewB really want for the first time ?

Just did some guessing and estimating with a friend, and I'm hoping for a thousand real visitors per month.

Is this anywhere close to a realistic idea for a self-supporting web page ?

This amount of page views can cover cheap hosting, but beyond that you'll need more PV's.
