question on iframes

I read some post on here that said iframes are somehow against CJ TOS? (granted it was an old post from years ago so maybe it changed) If I've asked and gotten permission to use iframes from the affiliates in CJ, linkshare, etc. is it okay?

All of my affiliates (i've asked MANY and so far ALL have approved) said it was okay, and they are the ones whose money it is, so I'm just curious what my status is on this. I'm just used to so many people reading my pages and then not clicking (out of spite, cuz they know I'd get the cookie and paid commission if they clicked, heck I think we all do that sometimes sadly), and so far all of the affiliates I asked about it agreed with me that it was an acceptable practice.

Thanks for your time.

Did you read the CJ TOS?

And what are you planning to do with the iframes, anyway? Sounds a little bit like you want to plant a cookie on people: "I'm just used to so many people reading my pages and then not clicking (out of spite, cuz they know I'd get the cookie and paid commission if they clicked" Seems odd to me that you assume this. If you've got good content, and it's related to the link, and the link will take them to a product they want related to the content, why wouldn't they click?

Well, even I back before I became an aff marketer, wouldn't click on affiliate advertisements. So I know all too well what it's like on the other side. I recall deleting my cookies, etc.

It doesn't matter anymore. I've gotten an answer finally from CJ and it's unacceptable even if the individual affiliates approved.

I think purplecape is right. I was thinking that the OP wanted to pass people to the affiliate site while using frames to keep his own site in the URL bar. But now I think this is about cookie-stuffing, a blackhat technique most legit affiliates think is unethical. A (rare) tip of the hat to CJ -- they get it, even if the retailers using CJ may not.

Don't generalize from your own habits. Very few surfers regularly delete cookies. Re not clicking on affiliate advertisements, well, if all you have is a banner ad on a page, then that's not surprising. I do very well with reviews with included text links to the book I'm reviewing, and friends who do the same with other products say the same.
