Thanks.

I confess I tried GoogleCash - Don't waste your money.

I think the problem with AM in the Philippines is that if you try and build a site for the US market, you'll have a hard time getting approved because you have a foreign address.

Hi lady_helix!
I'm also from The Philippines, presently here in HK as ofw.

It's really hard to get an approval by big merchants if you're in the Philippines. But here in hk I have no problem getting approved by Paypal, CJ, LS etc.

I don't know if this violates Paypal tos but I have a tip for those who want to get a paypal account in the Philippines: If you have a friend or relative here in hk, ask her/him to apply for a value mastercard in metro bank here in hk, and give you a supplimentary card. It's pre-approved, just deposit a minimum of P10,000 as collateral. Now you have a credit card with hk address (paypal operates in Hk), then ask your friend to open a paypal account for you using her/his address and your supplimentary card to get verified by paypal.

Hope this helps.

Another Noy-pi. Mabuhay ka mare!

Our situation is rather tough but we can get by. There are ways around most of these problems.

Maybe its a good idea if we could get together to discuss AM Pinoy-style - maybe on a separate forum or something. If there's a good number of us here, maybe its worth it to create one.

Hi,
Salamat kabayan.
Nice to know that filipinos are trying to dig into technology.Im very new at this. And would like to learn more. There are so many e-books and references online and it can be costly to purchase them all(considering the value of peso). Maybe an exchange of knowledge and opinion will be a good alternative by creating a forum like this.

Anyway has anyone read Taking the back Road to get on Google's first page?, It cost $97 and i want to know if its worth it...

I would not buy books (or ebooks) dealing on SEO topics. The info gets obsolete very quickly. There are plenty (and free) sources of info online. Just cultivate the fine art of filtering the golden nuggets from the pile of trash and you'll be fine.

Sharing info is cool. I can create a new forum (I have plenty of spare resources) for info sharing purposes if there will be enough of us willing to go there and participate.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is WebmasterWorld if not a forum to share information?....

A while ago some folks thought of creating a forum to share information for newbies, it died a quick death.

And then we're back to question 1.

Hello Rogerio,

I was talking about creating a separate forum for us Pinoys (if there are a good number here) to talk about local AM issues and concerns. Iam sure people at WebmasterWorld wouldn't like it if we use this board as a venue to discuss these things here :-) or we speak (write) in our native language.

Btw, you haven't answered my PM. Turned-off by my style? :-)

Ah. On the forum, that makes sense.

And on the PM, I just looked at my inbox, and I don't have anything from you?
Just PM or AIM me :)

I would say don't buy the ebooks... it's a waste of money (I bought googlecash, although it jump start me in affiliate marketing, I found this forum to be more informative), just read through some of the threads here in webmastersworld and you'll get a ton of information that will give you lots of new ideas. Mix the ideas together and you'll have some of your own unique ideas. :)

also, I found the mp3 conference call recordings of perry marshalls and his associates to be very very informative and they are all free of charge. Just look up his name on google.

What really helped me was to go back to the very last page of this forum, and start reading. Some of the information is outdated, but it'll especially help you understand affiliate marketing.

I bought some ebooks in clickbank. Usually, they give 30 days money back guaranty. So, If I were not satisfied with the books and didn't get what they promised in the cover, I just ask for my money back and they would quickly refund my credit card.

Is this thread still alive?

Anyway, i am definitely new here and from the philippines. Been reading the messages here in this website and it obviously looks like its hard to have an AM if you're based in the Philippines...

I wanted to ask though, has anyone tried having an AM for the philippine market?

Please message or post me here...would really appreciate any replies. Thanks!
