Typical conversion rates in the language learning niche?

I know the typical conversion rate question is one that usually can't be answered, as it varies widely on the product/niche.

However, I was wondering what kind of a conversion rate I could expect in the language learning niche. Say a site that caters to beginning learners of Italian and has some decent content on it, and sells an (imho actually useful ;)) affiliate product (that complements its content): a language learning course with a strong brand, price point 100$.

What kind of conversion rate would you expect roughly? Is 1% too high of an estimate (if unique visitors who are only looking for "what does word xyz mean in italian?" were filtered out)?

thanks!

Depends on the traffic - I run a highly targeted language learning site and also tried to promote a 'language learning course with a strong brand, price point 100$' (brand sounds similar to a really bad health condition). Results were dismal - try to offer a similar product via amazon - better results
