As affiliates do you prefer to run CPA or CPM offers?

I've always found there is more money to be made in sales vs. getting paid per impression.

The difference is academic. CPA can be recalculated as either CPC or CPM - and CPC and CPM can each be recalculated as the other.

Tough question. If I'm selling the adspace, I would almost rather get a CPM deal because that's predictable. I know about how many pages I'll serve and I can set my target rate accordingly. But on the other hand a CPA program could be more lucrative, with a bunch of "Ifs":
- If the product is worthwhile
- If the advertiser can convert
- If the advertiser doesn't rip you off
