Additional content via Third Party Reviews for SEO

Is paying a company to give a web site additional content via 'Third Party Reviews' helpful for search engine optimization? Are there any pitfalls that I should look out for? Does anyone have any good ecommerce 3rd party review companies I can look into...thank you!

I don't know any 3rd party review companies, but I have done several "competitor reviews" myself that have competed well on the seo side. So doing them yourself can work out.
The only pitfalls I see about hiring out to write these reviews is maintaining the quality of the seo work - ensuring that the third party reviews you pay for are accurate, relevant and original.
