I'm going to start affiliate marketing and will use ppc to drive traffic to my site. I will be using only one domain name and chop them into different categories for different affiliate products. How about you? Do you have mini sites for different products or just one site like what I'll be doing? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Any comment and suggestion is really appreciated.

Thanks

I think in the case of PPC it doesn't matter. But eventually you will like to get 'free' visitors from the SE's as well. And that's more easy with a single site, I would say.

Even in PPC, it's helpful if your domain is specific to the products. For instance, someone searching for blue widgets will find BlueWidgetStore.com a much better choice than WeSellEverything.com. Also, it gives you more flexibility on your ad text, as the URL alread tells them that you sell what they're looking for. You could do an ad like "Huge selection, free S&H, and excellent prices!" and let your Destination URL (BlueWidgetStore.com) lets them know you sell the products they're looking for.

Thanks,
That means I have to aquire 50 domains for 50 products if I choose this method? How about use url's like bluewidgets.mystore.com. My concern really is the amount of time that I would consume to manage plenty of websites, as I have only 3-4 hours a day to do this stuff. I also need to consider the cost of domains and hosting.

Is having different domains widely differs from using only a single site in terms of attractiveness to buyers and therefore more profitable?

I really don't want to go to the wrong direction so please be patient with me.

Thank you again.

You just have to weigh the costs and benefits.

I wouldn't recommend separate sites for each product, unless they have a huge potential. I would recommend separate sites for different types/categories of products.

I wouldn't recommend subdomains. They just seem spammy to me.
