How to build traffic?

This is probably a question many people have thought of asking.

Ok, I have a site that was doing ok in the SERPS but died last Google update.

All traffic from Google is gone.....

I can't use PPC because of the "Herbal" nature of the site.

I feel I have exhausted my supply of quality inbound links.

How would you go about getting some visitors when all routes in are blocked?

(Man! I wish I new some other people who do this affiliate stuff. I'm like an affiliate hermit. Anyone from Cornwall who does this stuff wanna meet up n make millions?)

One thing I will never understand is the obsession with google. :)

There are other engines out there, use them! :)

Yeah I understand there are other SE's and yes I do still get a little bit of traffic from them.

Viral Marketing has proven to be a winner when the newsletter goes out but only for a week or so. I can't send letters out every month.

Offline Marketing. I wouldn't say this was really possible due to the nature of the site.
