FTC revised guidelines hold companies liable

Just read an article about proposed new FTC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. When bloggers and others make untruthful statements about products they have received, the company will be held liable.

I'm still looking to see if this would also apply to product reviews written by affiliates, people building pages for AdSense ads, etc.

If Yes, I would expect affiliate merchants to start putting restrictions on what people can write about products on their sites.
