Price range -- per email -- for targetted newsletter ad?

I have a large email list of people who have subscribed through my website. People have inquired about running an ad in the newsletter that I send out to my readers.

What is an appropriate price range, per email? This is a highly targetted reader list, in no way spam, that veiwers sign up to get our articles.

I have heard everything from .01 per email to .50 per email!

What do you think an appropriate amount would be to charge advertisers to run an ad on the side of the newsletter? We of course do not spam, so would not send out an ad only, but would include the ad in the newsletter with content instead.
