i'm a small internet retailer and all is well, however a couple of years ago i build a group of sites that are informational, which linked back to the ecommerce website inorder to generate new leads [and also because i enjoy my niche and it was fun to do]
so fast forward to today:
yes i do get sales on the ecommerce site that were 'referred' from these sites, but not a huge amount, however it turns out that (i really don't know why) the sites have become really popular.
i'm running adsense on them and generating a decent amount from that, however i'm wondering if there is another way of monetising them as well.
eg. can i add banner ads or something similar - i've got no idea who are the companies to deal with.
i don't really want to add affiliate links - not because i'm against it but because this is just a lucky bonus for me, adsense is cool as it is plug and play so to speak ... i don't want to work at finding merchants to promote.
of course i'm working on maximising the referals my own site gets from this small network .. .
but beyond that, any suggestions?
fyi, this is a network of 4 informational sites, with around 1,000,000 page views a month between them (they are not forums) ... surely i can get something from banners or suchlike
the only proviso is that i'm not interested in selling links to those companies that go around buying links for their customers, or to anyone else, i'm intersted only in 'straight advertising'
