I seem to get conflicting data between the tool keyword tools and i don't which one to take seriously.

For example on the word seduction per se you get 15000 searches performed in Dec 2004 (according to overture), yet in

Wordtracker it says 1100 searches on that word alone in the past 60 days!? Which is nowhere near the overture figure even when accounting for the differences in broad match.

Can anybody make any sense of this?
In any case which tool can be better relied upon for the prupose of knowing the number of searches for the keyword in a month?

Does anybody have any better alternatives?

Wordtracker results are PER DAY, over a rolling 60-day time frame. When you consider the permutations which Overture doesn't necessarily show (stemming, singular/plural, concatenated/non-concat) and multiply Wordtracker's results for each permutation X 30 (days), you'll generally get a few more results from Wordtracker as it also considers Google search data, in addition to MSN and Yahoo.

Overture reflects searches made at Overture, Yahoo, MSN, and search-in-a-box affiliates.

as far as i know the results from word-tracker use a meta crawler that spiders all major search engine data-centers like yahoo as opposed to every single website on the web. More information can be found on the word-tracker site and the dogpile site.

i mean how do these keyword tools know what people are searching for on all these search engines? Do they have biz relationships with them all?
