What makes a program work for you?

Hi,

I am an account manager for a leading Affiliate program, and I would like to ask your input on what makes you sign up for a program? what keeps you within the program? and what makes you quit one?

Good rates and good creatives make me join. Confirmed sales and provision makes me stay. trouble with payments makes me leave very fast, no conversions make me leave fast, low conversion rate makes me leave slowly.
Oh, and for me, I'm sensitive with gifts. I had one merchant whom I gave 50k euro in sales, I got paid my share and they were like "Here, have a gift for christmas". It was one of those books nobody would ever buy, seemed like they couldn't sell it so they send them out to their affiliates. Cool presents or no presents at all for me, please.
