Hi- My first post. Great forum! I am learning alot.

I run a website for my tribute rock band and wanted to find out a way we could generate extra income through our site. Affiliates, adsense, sell T-shirts? Any thoughts?

In SERPs for our name, we come up almost always number one. For our category, not so good. We've been on the web for several years.

Here are our stats, I'm not sure how to translate this to potential.

This is 1 year data except where noted:
Successful server requests 124,880 Requests
Successful requests in last 7 days 2,763 Requests
Successful requests for pages 17,604 Requests for pages
Successful requests for pages in last 7 days 436 Requests for pages
Distinct files requested 232 Files
Distinct files requested in last 7 days 103 Files
Distinct hosts served 17,857 Hosts
Distinct hosts served in last 7 days 643 Hosts
Unwanted lines in the logfile 104 Lines
Total data transferred 11.248 GB
Total data transferred in last 7 days 201.361 MB

Thank you so much for looking.

Welcome, keep researching. Be patient and read what others have commented here at the forum. Every site is different but yes, traffic and good content is the key. There are different cases here who have little or huge traffic, some with big differences and some with the same income... but I can tell you per example 500 unique visitors is a good start.

I think putting ads for your personal site is a bit crass, as the purpose of it is to promote your band, not send your traffic away, but I would definitely use some affiliate programs, for example, band t-shirts, mugs and other products (check out cafepress), etc.

I have stumbled upon cafepress in the past but didn't have a need to use it. Have you experience with it?

Thanks for your responses. Is there a way to tell how many "uniques" I have with those statistics above?

I just signed up for google analytics yesterday & am anxiously awaiting their numbers
