This is my first post and i wondered if you could please give me some very basic advice on getting my first affiliate promotion campaign up and running.
I am an absolute novice so if you are too busy to reply then i will fully understand.
I would like to become an affiliate promoter of ebooks and i am starting without any knowledge of this business, but so far i have researched and chosen an ebook that i would like to promote and created a hoplink for it, i have experimented in yahoo search marketing and followed the five steps,
1,target by geo area
2,choose keywords
3, selecting my budget
4, creating my ad
5, activate my ad, ( although i did not activate it )
I have a few basic questions
How do i create ad groups? have you got a link to this please
also where is the campaign tab?
If for any reason i wish to cancel a campaign, how do i do it
In stage 4, What do i put in the URL box, do i paste my hoplink into it or if i just put the www.productname etc.com then how would i get paid?
i mean how can i be traced as the affiliate if my hoplink is not in the URL
I would really appreciate any advice possible or even if someone guided me to tutorial videos on campaign start up and ad group creation.
Best wishes

I believe you want to promote this product via ppc marketing in yahoo and google. Easiest thing to do is do a search for "yahoo search marketing" and " google adwords" and these will take you to the respective sign pages for both of these sites.
Once you've created an account, you plug in your keywords, set up your targetting and budget, write your ads and away you go. Make sure to create different ads so you can see which one performs best.
Good luck to you on your new venture!
I have already studied and learned more, but wondered if you could give me some more advice regarding getting paid when a customer clicks my ad and buys the promoted product.
I do not have a site as such,( do i need a site? )
i intend to start off just promoting someone else`s ebook form the clickbank marketplace and create a ppc Yahoo campaign for it as an affiliate.
I have registered with yahoo search marketing and also clickbank as an affiliate so i am nearly there,
am i taking the correct steps?
for example
1, i select my chosen ebook from the clickbank marketplace and create a hoplink with my nickname
2,Then i use Yahoo search marketing and go through the set up steps i.e geo area, keywords, budget per click etc,
but it is the create AD stage that has got me thinking, i have to create a title, description and then URL
I have done my homework regarding the product so i can fill in these details, but if i just put the products website details into the URL section then how does the system know that i should be paid a commission for it.
Could you please tell me what links me with the transaction?
Many thanks

title great diet plan etc
description revolutionary diet plan etc
URL www.example.com
this is how it would show up on a yahoo search engine page in the sponsored search section so how do i get the commission if i am not linked to it?
Ok if i set an ad up and arrange the billing then when someone clicks my ad, a payment would come out of my billing account to pay for the click, but if the person actually buys the ebook then how do i get paid for it? what links me with the tranaction?
many thanks for your help
best wishes

It sounds like you're wanting to promote products available through ClickBank.
It also sounds like you want to promote the product through pay-per-click advertising. Yahoo and Google each have a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising program.

However, I want to warn you that you can lose money fast with using this method of selling the ebook as an affiliate if you aren't careful. There are people who do it and profit, but they typically have experience and have spent sums of money while learning which keywords to choose, how much to bid, etc.
Spend a lot of time reading and learning before you put too much money at risk.
