Hello everybody!

Just wondering whether anyone out there has been rejected by CJ.com when they wanted to sign up as a merchant? What was the reason for rejection?

Will sole-proprietorships get rejected?

Appreciate your feedback! Thank you!

I dont know if this helps...but I cant even access CJ.com "connection refused" I guess they are rejecting my IP so yea they are rejecting me as a merchant. Have no clue why though! Never used it before or anything, it happened when I wanted to use CJ for the first time.

If CJ turns you down, try Linkshare.com instead.

I believe yours is a case of IP blocking due to the region you reside in.

Correct me if i am wrong here. I believe Linkshare is more expensive than CJ.com for the merchant.

Any sole-proprietors out there that managed to get into CJ.com as a merchant?

I am an affiliate, not a merchant.

I think LinkShare is more expensive. Small companies can or at least could get accepted by CJ. Probably just depends on how many merchants they already have in the catgegory.

I know of some sole proprietor merchants at CJ.com. They've been there for a while, though. Perhaps CJ.com is more restrictive now? If anything, I would expect the part of the world you're in, your credit references, and the size of your company to be larger factors. What information do they ask for on their merchant application?

ShareASale.com might be a better choice for smaller merchants.

CJ is understaffed and it was difficult to get 'accepted' as a merchant. But my company has been a merhcant for 9 months now.

Linkshare's main problem is that they try to make you sign an exclusive agreement with them. At least they did 9 months ago.

Depending on what you had in mind for your affiliate program, I may suggest that you try a different program - possibly ShareaSale as they have no setup fees and are easy to set up. I use that for another site and it does fine.

What are you trying to accomplish?

CJ charges something like 5K just to get started.

CJ is so understaffed that they need to reject new business? wow.. that doesn't sound good.

Yes, another thing about Linkshare that I do not like is that the merchant needs to sign a exclusive deal with them.

Currently we are already on Shareasale.
Shareasale service and support has been fantastic so far. But I find their affiliate quality and quantity lacking. Therefore I'm trying to move to CJ from there.
