looking for a way to target specific communities

I am running a website which is broken down into a lot of smaller local websites. Similar to craigslist, where each smaller website is its own self-contained community, and more importantly, I know who I am targeting with each smaller site.

I know lots of ad networks claim to do geographical targeting, but most of them are inaccurate, and this doesn't really apply to me, since their methods usually don't assume that I already know which geographic location I'm dealing with. I'm looking for a network or group that can help setup local ads. I'm considering simply calling every local business I think applies to my site and ask them if they are interested, but since I am in 50 locations, and growing, this means months of work.

Any advice?

I would recommend hiring a couple telemarketers. There is no more cost effective way of reaching the local/smaller businesses.

It would depend a lot on how much traffic you are getting from those smaller (individual) markets?

If you're getting good traffic volume, owners of small buinesses are probably already visiting your site. Have you added an "advertise here" link to your site?
