Great article about burn rates and also summarizing the history of online advertising.

Life expectancy shown for some big names:
(from end of first quarter)
DoubleClick 43 quarters
24/7 Media .6 quarters
Engage 2 quarters

Kind of concerns me that they made a math error though:

Before the purchase, they had 108 quarters (or approximately nine years) of cash.

9*12=108. Do you think they have printed "quarter" where they meant "month"?

Since they have quoted everything else in quarters, I think they just divided by months by mistake. Surely it was just a quick error while writing the article, not something that would have been done while computing the main figures. I hope.
