CBS is the first major site to reject CPC advertising. In fact, they are not even going to report clickthru rates to advertisers:

They want to go back to the basics eh?

Come on soft-drink companies and fast food franchises, start some affiliate programs with CPM payouts!

While reading this article, notice the sky scraper ad on the right for Kmart! That is the first time they have net'vertised.

I was on Iwon.com today and forgot to re-prompt for Active-x scripts. A big Shoshkele from McDonalds popped up to let me know about the Monopoly game that has started again. Ticked me off because I was in the middle of reading a news article and it popped up right in the center of the screen. First time I saw one from them too.

These Shoshkeles are getting way out of hand. They popped up on almost every article page I visited. I think regular pop-up ads are going to be a thing of the past for they can dump these right on a page and the common user can't go any further unless they click on it.

But heck i'd love to have some on my hit and run sites. Pretty dirty way to get clicks but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
