I am starting a new website that will be fully functional in July. I am allowing businesses to register
online and upload their coupon info and logo which will be posted to
the site automatically. When end users click a certain coupon, it
will be generated immediately for them to print and use. I am promoting the website with thousands of bumper magnets, on site advertising at all locations that will be advertising and
also on the cover of The Savings Book, a publication that we print, which is currently mailed to all of Middle Tennessee.(85,000 circulation)
I would like to list grocery manufacturers coupons on the website, but to tell you the truth, I have no idea how to make this happen. I realize that since I am a new website and do not have a track record it may be difficult to attract attention. I have every intention of heavily promoting the website and will have the traffic before long. I need content now to please the customers I do attract to the site, not in a year when my traffic count is high. I
have tried contacting other coupon websites for info, but have been
largely ignored. Any assistance anyone can give would be greatly appreciated in how to get content for my website.
Thanks Craig

Welcome to WebmasterWorld! You might have to provide an incentive for people to advertise with you such as some free trial period. It also appears that you will either beat the pavement and go and see advertisers, or use the phone to contact potential advertisers, but either way there appears to be some direct selling necessary to attract business.

Thanks for the response and the welcome. As far as local coupons, I will have to beat the pavement. I already print a direct mail coupon magzine with local advertising, so I have some contacts already established. I checked around and found out the two main publishers of the Sunday coupon inserts in the newspaper and contacted them. It seems I can set up as a microsite to their current websites and list the same coupons, getting around a dime when each coupon is printed. Its not much, but its a start. I figure I can do this until I build up enough traffic where I appeal to the manufacturers and at that point get my own coupons.
