Text Link Advertising Programs

Are there any that meet Google's guidelines?

Google has been quite clear that they don't want publishers selling text link ads. So okay, I admit it - I'm a coward and dependent on Google for a lot of my rankings and Adsense income. So I would like to find some pay per impression advertising programs other than banner ads that fall within Google's guidelines.

Are there any text link programs that are okay with Google? Any that do not have direct links to the advertiser but maybe go through some sort of third party URL like the banner ads or network affiliate programs? Or direct links where the advertisers don't mind publishers using the "nofollow" tag on the link?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do not know about such a program, but i believe it would not be very popular. But who knows, maybe for $1 a month it would have some chances to survive :)

Note: some well established and trusted sites do not follow these "nofollow" rules and have no problems with that. For example w3schools which is on the first page for most web-related queries like html, css, etc.

I have tried Adbrite which I believe is what you are looking for...I believe they have an affiliate program. Textlinkads also has an affiliate program. Whether text links in general is good or bad is up to you...

Strictly within Google's guidelines means that, presumably, the ad program has to use nofollow.

So, you're looking for an ad program that is either:

  • A niche with low volumes of targeted traffic
  • A broad-reaching program that attracts sufficient numbers of quality visitors in most areas

There's plenty of good niches out there, but as for providers with broad coverage and consistently good traffic: I've got plenty of spare fingers to count them on ;)

  •
