Amazon Pre-orders

Do you still get comission on them?

I'm working in a sector which has several new items which are likely to be very popular coming out in the next few months. If I advertise these, will they still show as an order if someone puts a pre-order in? And if so, would it show immediatly, or only when the item became available?

I'm pretty sure that you get paid, but only when the item ships.

You definitely will get paid, when the item ships. I've done quite well on some pre-orders. There are plusses and minuses--the plus is that you get more orders, and not only because of the extra time. You're also letting visitors know about something they are less likely to find on their own. The minus is that some of those can get cancelled before the item ships.

On balance, pre-orders are well worth it, IMHO. If you'd like to see other viewpoints, this topic has been discussed a few times recently on the Amazon Associates boards.
