What would you recommend? Cureently adsense is running but makes no more then $2 per day. Please help me. Anyone know if adbrite would be a good option?
On a picture rating site this isn't unusual and the impulse to "click to vote" which typically takes the user to the next image is much stronger than the impulse to click on an ad. To compete with your "click to vote" you need a strong ad -- content matched text ads probably won't cut it.
Try ads with pictures of people in them or funny/offbeat pictures. That is why people are on your site, right? To look at interesting pictures? If you want to make money, have some interesting pictures that you get paid every time your users click one. :)
Its not that i dont like you. (Dont know you)
But why do you want people to send you Mails in ALL of your posts in this forum? Its getting pretty strange...
Sorry for the off topic.
On topic:
Pages like forums and gallery is hard to get any money from, but $2 aday is not much. Do you have any text on your site?
I realize that this is strange. But when I make a suggestion I make a suggestion or recommendation based on assesment of your site.
Yes my site is all articles.
What is strange is that people are afraid or cautious to let the name of their site go out.
Thank you.

It's really not that strange, given that any half decent web designer can mimic (if not downright steal) your site's theme and content if they are made aware of how much money you're bringing in with it.
I can put out a image rating site in a week or less, and for $500+ a month of revenue without much updating, that seems like a good proposition.
Tweak a bit, improve on what your competitor's lacking, and presto, you have a competitor fighting over the same eyeballs as yourself.
Or so the legend goes.
I have a site that deals with random images, where users can comment on them and vote for the collest images. Not sure if I am allowed to put a url here or not. The site gets about 100,000 page views and 4,000 unique visotors per day mostly from teens and yound adult men. What would you recommend? I'd seriously consider affiliates, even something as simple as Amazon. For your audience, maybe work at displaying the latest DVD releases or popular music.
Also, you might clean up if you can find an adult affiliate. When I go to BoingBoing I'm always distracted by those damn ads ;)
Might I ask which general category your site was in?
it's a general information site, no aff products. It's actually family friendly and safe, something you could show kids and parents. I love the site but I built it using methods I learned when I worked for someone else and had a staff. It's a real PIA to maintain, so I hardly ever touch it anymore.
When I first read this I tried moving my affiliate links to my navigation as suggested and I increased my clickthroughs by a large amount. [ thanks for the tip :-) ]
Also I moved adsense to the bottom section of my site and went full page banner ( 728 * 90 I think are the deminsions ). Tracking shows that while these get less views they get very good click throughs comparatively. I surmise that a use that scrolls all the way to the bottom is a bored user looking for something to do.
Garish colors don't work for me it drives my users away.
There was another suggestion that I am still testing but preliminary results indicates it was a good move.
It was rewriting my forum to place a adsense ad after the first post in a thread. This way the user is more likely to see it. Like I said it seems to be working well but I don't have enough data yet to be conclusive.
