Hey, guys, here's a question for ya: Once upon a time, did you used to have banners (Fastclick, Burst, etc.) on your site, but has since removed them because you made more in other ways, say AM or with Adsense? I find the banners to be annoying, but for the last two or so years they've been my primary means of income. But now, my affiliate earnings have increased enough that I can afford to get rid of two banners, and I would like to get rid of almost all of them in the future and just rely on ADsense and affiliates. (I know, Adsense is technically a banner, but it just looks better than those annoying flashing images.)

Question: Has anyone ditched their banners completely in favor of affiliates, or have ditched most of their banners? My guess is that most people still have some kind of banners, if just one or two on their pages.

Oh, I got rid of my banners about one and half years ago, when the Adsense came along.

I didn't like the banners and had no time hunting the advertisers.

(I have been reading this board alot, but here is my first post..)

I got rid of my 768x150px banner on my forum this week. It did not pay me anything (almost), and now i have a Adsense skyrscraper on the right side of the forum, it is much more monyearning (is that a word..? hmm..)

The CTR is poor on forums, but its something.

I am in the process of removing all my Fastclick banners from one website as well and replacing that piece of space with adsense. eCPM in Fastclick is becomming ridiculously low, plus their advertisements are very annoying to most of my visitors. I've gotten e-mails from visitors complaining.

I figured that the adsense banner had to perform ten times worse than the regular banners in order to earn the same. If adsense had the same CTR as the regular banner, then I would earn ten times more, than with the regular banner.

Therefore, it is almost certain that those banners will provide more income as adsense.

Hey guys,

I have done a good amount of research on this issue, but can't make any recommendations untill I don't see the site, know the number of average visitors, and whether it's mostly content or pics.

The CPCs or affiliate Click rates vary according to the range of your visitors.

Send me a sticky mail about those details, I will get back to you individually.

Take care.

Best wishes.
