We have a very small site about hour home renovation experiences.
We started in late October 2007 and the only PPC is from Adsense (we've tried Adbryte and Bidvertiser).
What I've noticed is that the longer our site has been up the greater the increase in the average PPC rate we have received.
Is there a link between the PPC rate and the duration of the web site?
I had thought that perhaps it was possibly due to the seasonality factor, but it's still the middle of winter (in the northern hemisphere) and home renovations market does not 'heat up' (sorry for the bad pun :-) ) until the late spring.
Thanks for sharing your experiences,
Dan
You posted in the Advertising and Affiliate forum--this thread will probably be moved to the AdSense forum, but to answer your question:
If there is such an increase, it's most likely due to factors outside of Google's AdSense algorithm.
As your site has "aged"--though it's still relatively new--I would think that the amount and nature of your traffic will have changed. Also, advertisers may have become aware of your site and started to target it.
Or it could just be a fluctuation in the "market"--six months isn't a lot of history.
Good luck with it, in any case.
This past weekend we placed a link to an affiliate advertiser on the right column. That is the only affiliate advertising we have.
Speaking of affiliate advertising, does the Adsense affiliate type of ad bring in much revenue? I tried it for the first few months with no results at al so I discontinued it.
I'd apprediate hearing other's experiences.
Thanks,
Dan
