Hi all, I hope your December was successful. I decided to try using Google's Adwords with Amazon's affiliate program and i'm not sure if i'm doing this properly. I was hoping someone might comfirm or let me know i'm doing it wrong.

I build a product link in Amazon's affiate console. Then in the URL for Adwords I put in the url that my product link goes to when you click the link on the graphic. To put it another way, when in the Amazon interface I hit get html it shows me what my ad would look like. I right click the link and choose copy shortcut and paste that URL in my adwords.

What i'm seeing is that i'm getting CTR on my Adwords and my Amazon clicks are going up at the same rate but 0.00% conversions over three days. It appears that Amazon is logging the clicks but either i'm getting no sales or I did something wrong and i'm not getting credit. I would have expected at least one sale as the items are very timely including one pre-order of a popular childrens book.

Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

Thanks
John

Don't bother spending on PPC for this one, specially to Amazon. WAY too many tire kickers on that item.

you may include a ref=nosim tag into your product url.
This directs your visitor directly to the product page and not to something saying "you clicked on this and that, but may choose these other products as well"

beer234-
Just a heads up: Amazon prohibits the use of their company name on any adwords or likewise ad. You are not allowed to use the Amazon name, or a mispelling of it. Contact the Amazon Affiliate Manager for details.

Browse/search the discusssion boards in the Amazon Associates area on Amazon. There have been several discussions about this over the past couple of months, and you will likely find some additional useful information there....
